Assign Cost Items dialog box

The Assign Cost Items dialog box allows the user to review the allocation of potential Cost Items (taking into consideration the current project and the other published projects in the Sciforma database), and to select one or more Cost Items that fit the need(s) of the selected tasks.

Task Information Header

The upper section of the dialog box provides the following information that enables the user to understand the context of the assignment: Project Name, Task Name, Task Start and Finish dates, Duration of the assignment, and % completion of the task.

Assignments spreadsheet

The Assignments spreadsheet allows the user to review both current assignments (Already Assigned section) and the ones he/she is about to make (New Assignments section).

For each assignment, the following information is displayed: Cost Item Name, Rate, Total Units, and time-distributed Units.

In addition, the following commands can be displayed:

Remove

Allows the user to remove the assignment from the New Assignments section.

Uniform

Uniform

Indicates that only uniform assignment is allowed. Upon clicking on this icon, the assignment allows non-uniform assignment.

Non Uniform

Non Uniform

Indicates that non-uniform assignment is allowed. Upon clicking on it, the assignment only allows uniform assignment.

Edit

Allows the user to open the Cost Item Assignment dialog box. This button is only available in the New Assignments section.

Provides access to the following commands:

  • Edit Details – Opens the corresponding Cost Item Assignment dialog box.

  • Delete – Allows the user to delete the corresponding assignment.

Available Cost Items section

The list of Cost Items available for selection displays the Cost Items that have been defined in the Project Administration dialog box, Team folder, Cost Items sub-tab.

The following options are available to manage the display of the assignable cost items list:

FilterGrey

Filters

Opens the Filters popup, which provides the following filtering options:

  • Organization – Allows the user to only display Cost Items belonging to the selected Organization.

  • Category Code – Allows the user to only display Cost Items whose Category Code has been selected.

Search

Search

Allows the user to find a specific Cost Item name in the list.

SortBy

Sort By

Allows the user to sort the Cost Items list by Utilization (ascending order) or by Name (alphabetical order).

For each Cost Item, the time-distributed Remaining Available Units are displayed.

Indicators are provided to highlight the Cost Item's capacity:

Green

The % Used is equal to zero.

AmberCellIndicator.png

Amber

The % Used is greater than 100%, meaning the Cost Item would be over-allocated if all commitments were to become actual assignments.

RedCellIndicator.png

Red

The % Used is greater than 100%, meaning the Cost Item would be over-allocated if all commitments were to become actual assignments.

Grey

The Available Units are equal to zero.

The following commands are available to manage the assignable Cost Items:

AddRoundGreen

Assign

Adds the Cost Item to the New Assignments section of the Assignments spreadsheet.

Manage Project Team

Opens the Project Administration dialog box, Team folder.
