The Build Allocation Requests dialog box allows the project manager to create allocation requests from the project’s existing soft and/or hard assignments.
Soft Assignments already linked to an Allocation Request (i.e., when the Allocation Request has been created from a Soft Assignment in the Gantt Task panel, Assignments tab) will not be taken into account during the Build process.
The Filter Options section allows the user to select the Organizations and Job Classifications to be taken into account when generating the allocation requests.
The Scope option allows the user to define whether allocations should be generated using Soft Assignments, Hard Assignments, or both. Depending on the selected Scope, the following fields will be available: Resources and/or Generic Resources.
Upon activating the “Update Existing Open Allocation Requests” switch button, the existing Allocation Requests (whose status is “Open”) will be overwritten with the Soft Assignments data.
The Time Frame section allows the user to generate allocation requests using the soft assignments available either for the whole project duration or for only a specific time period.
Upon selecting the Custom Period option, the Start and Finish fields become available, allowing the user to define the desired time period.
