The Schedule Variance shows the difference between the scheduled completion of a task and the actual completion of that task.
The Schedule Variance is calculated by deducting Planned Value from Earned Value.
SV = EV - PV
A negative Schedule Variance means it took longer than planned to perform the work of a task.
A positive Schedule Variance means it took less time than planned to do the work.
