How to define the Project Budget

Once Cost Centers have been defined by the Administrator, it is possible to define a Budget at the Project level.

  1. Log in to the HTML5 client.

  2. Select the Finance workspace.

  3. Select a Project in the Project Data Selector.

  4. Click on the EDIT button of the Budget tile to open the Budget dialog box.

From scratch

  1. Click on the New (NewProject) command and select one or several Cost Centers in the Global Cost Centers popup.

    Note

    If the Project has been attached to a Portfolio Folder, only the Portfolio Cost Centers will be displayed.

  2. In the spreadsheet, enter the budget distributed values.

From the Project Total Cost

Note

This action is only possible for costs that have been associated with a Cost Center. Those costs can come from Resource Assignments (Hard or Soft), Cost Items Assignments, and Cost Transactions.

  1. Click on the Update from Total Cost/Effort (update_budget_v2_22_md.png) command.

  2. In the Update Budget from Total Cost/Effort popup, select the desired option, and click on the OK button.

  3. The Cost Centers and their corresponding values are imported to the spreadsheet.

From the Project Forecast

Note

This action is only possible for forecasts that have been associated with a Cost Center. Those forecasts can come from: Resources, Cost Items Assignments, and Transactions.

  1. Click on the Update from Forecast (update_budget_v1_22_md.png) command.

  2. In the Update Budget from Forecast popup, select the desired option, and click on the OK button.

  3. The Cost Centers and their corresponding values are imported to the spreadsheet.
