How to assign a Team to an Iteration

  1. Log in to the HTML5 client.

  2. Select the Work workspace, Agile tab.

  3. Select a project in the Project Data Selector.

  4. Open the Iteration Details full screen view by clicking on the Iteration Name displayed in the Timeline section.

  5. Select the Overview tab.

  6. In the Iteration Details panel (left-hand side), select the Team radio button.

  7. When there is no Team Member defined for the Iteration, the following options are provided to add Team Members:

    1. Create Team from Scratch – Allows the user to add new Team Member(s) to the current Team. The prompted User list displays users who belong to the Project Team.

    2. Import an Agile Team – Allows the user to choose a Team from the Agile Teams defined in the Project Structure full screen view, Teams tab. This option is available if at least one Agile Team has been defined.

    3. Bring in the Iteration Team – Allows the user to import the Team Members from the Agile Team already specified in the Iteration Team field. This option is only available if the Iteration Team field is not empty.

      To fulfill it, open the Iteration dialog box by clicking on the Iteration Details (EditColor) button.

      Note

      The “Bring in the Iteration Team” option is only available if Assignees have not been defined on Backlog Items related to the Iteration. Otherwise, the “Import from Backlog Items Assignees” option will be displayed.

    4. Import the Project Team – Allows the user to import the users from the Project Team. This option is only available when the “Import from Assignments” option is not available.

  8. If a Team Member capacity needs to be updated for a specific Iteration, click on the More (MoreVertical) button and select the Edit command.

  9. Once Team Members are assigned to Backlog Items, his/her Capacity Indicator could change:

    1. Red (Overallocated.png) – Indicates that the Team Member Assigned Points have surpassed his/her Budget Points.

    2. Amber (Underallocated.png) – Indicates that the Team Member Assigned Points have fallen below his/her Budget Points.

    3. Green (GreenCheck.png) – Indicates that the Team Member Assigned Points have equaled his/her Budget Points.
