How to create Tasks

The goal of this step is to identify all the tasks or phases required to complete the project.

If your Schedule Mode is "Critical Chain", do not forget to select the Planning Mode. The Switch to Tracking Mode (alarm22_md.png) button must be displayed in the Main toolbar.

  1. Log in to the HTML5 client.

  2. Select the Work workspace, Gantt tab.

  3. Select a project in the Project Data Selector.

  4. Select the Scheduler (viewmode_activegantt22_md.png) mode.

  3. Upon clicking on the Insert Tasks button (addnewbluecircle_22_md.png), users can select the position of the rows containing the newly created tasks:

    1. Insert After – The selected number of tasks to be created appear underneath the current task. The new tasks will be created at the same level as the selected task.

    2. Insert Before – The selected number of tasks to be created appear above the current task. The new tasks will be created at the same level as the selected task.

    3. Insert Children – The selected number of tasks are created as children of the current task. Note that if the current task has assignments (Labor or Cost item), the user will have to confirm that these will be removed before new children tasks are created.

Note

The task must be selected before using the Insert Tasks button.
